Krista Duncan Black, J.D., B.A.
Krista is a licensed attorney, CEO of TOPDOG, writer, and business owner. She loves helping law firms maximize their online presence and connect with potential clients and is a proud member of the Legal Marketing Association and the American Marketing Association.
Krista has been a licensed attorney for 25 years. She was in the top 30% of her class at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she served as an articles editor for the Indiana Law Journal and the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board. Krista formerly worked as a Lead Quality Editor for LexisNexis, where she performed writing quality control for a team of 50 lawyer-editors and developed benchmark quality standards for over 500 editors. Krista previously worked in the litigation group at Huddleston Bolen, in the labor and employment group at Dinsmore, and as the Assistant Director of the Legal Division at a major state agency. Having practiced on both sides of a civil practice and as in-house counsel, she knows first-hand the challenges attorneys face balancing the practice of law with client development. Jeff Black, M.L.S., B.A.
Jeff is the Chief Financial Officer of TOPDOG and the former Human Resources Director for one of West Virginia’s 10 largest employers. He holds a Master of Legal Studies degree from West Virginia University. Heather B. Kane, J.D., CDMP, PCM® in Digital Marketing
Heather is an attorney, certified digital marketing professional, writer, and editor. She has been a licensed attorney for more than 25 years, working in private practice, a judicial clerkship, and as a court staff attorney. Heather also taught Legal Analysis, Research and Communication as a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. In addition, Heather has worked in publishing for both LexisNexis and for Pearson Education and has earned certifications from DMI as a Certified Digital Marketing Professional and from the AMA as a Professional Certified Marketer (PCM)® in Digital Marketing. She now puts her extensive experience as a lawyer, editor, and digital marketing professional to work for TOPDOG as the Legal Content Director.

Angela A. Sinner, M.B.A., B.A.
Angela A. Sinner has over 25 years of experience in the legal and health care fields. She worked as a paralegal in Wisconsin, Arizona, Tennessee, and Indiana before she further established her career with a Wisconsin-based health care system. There she manages business operations and program development, which includes continued legal contract writing and negotiations.

Lynn Lewis, B.A.
Lynn Lewis, a Content Production Specialist with TOPDOG, has more than 15 years of experience writing about a wide variety of topics—from human resources policy to the human experience. A cum laude graduate of West Virginia University, she has a bachelor of arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing.
Lynn has worked in the fields of online publishing, workers’ compensation insurance, human resources, technology, and nonprofit communications and development. The common threads in her career have been an obsessive attention to detail, a passion for research, and an ability to craft high-quality pieces of writing that speak to their intended audience.

Paula Roberts
Paula brings a lifetime of organizational and administrative experience to her role as our Creative and Administrative Director. Paula’s background includes experience as a trusted paralegal and secretary, and, at the beginning of her career, a benefits coordinator. Prior to joining TOPDOG as a full-time employee, Paula worked as an accounting clerk for a major West Virginia car dealership.
Besides her ability to work with words and numbers, Paula is an avid crafter. Her love of all things crafty led her to own and operate her own home-based business for more than a decade while raising her family. During this time, she taught monthly card classes where she instructed 25-30 students per session. She loves helping people reach their full potential and meet the goals they set for themselves.
Samantha Roberts, B.A.
Samantha brings accounting, software, and organizational skills to her position as a TOPDOG Administrative Assistant. She has also earned her advanced certification in Google Analytics. Before joining our team, she worked as an accounting clerk for a major car dealership in West Virginia. Samantha graduated from Marshall University, where she studied criminal justice and minored in digital forensics.
Samantha and her husband are proud parents of their young son. In her spare time, Samantha is a lover of everything creative. She enjoys gardening, baking, and spending time with her family and loving pets.
Nathan B. Chase, A.A.S.
Paralegal Nathan Chase is a former human resources clerk who holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Paralegal from Rio Salado Community College. He interned with TOPDOG through Rio Salado and was trained in the various functions of a legal office including legal marketing, conducting legal research, and learning how to use SEO tools. Prior to interning with TOPDOG, he cared for his grandpa as a 24/7 caregiver until the day of his passing while working towards his degree. Now, as TOPDOG’s Paralegal, he provides legal and administrative support to the team by researching and drafting legal content, building CLE courses, designing law firm logos, and performing tasks to help law firms improve their online presence. Nathan is a Google-certified online advertising professional, accredited by Google in Google Ads Search Certification.
Nathan enjoys hiking and exploring caves, playing chess, spending time with his family and two dogs, playing the drums, composing music through a music studio program, and telling stories.
Duncan McMaster
Duncan McMaster, an Administrative and Technical Assistant with TOPDOG, has years of experience with computers and stays up-to-date with the current hardware market. He is a student at Arizona State University majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Duncan brings experience in journalism, graphic design, and content writing to the team.
In his free time, Duncan loves socializing with friends online and playing games. He also likes to challenge himself by dedicating an overabundance of time to find solutions to small inconveniences in his life. You can learn more about Duncan on LinkedIn.
Nikki Conley, B.A.
Nikki Conley, graduate of West Virginia University, brings a lifetime of experience to her Administrative Assistant position at TOPDOG Legal Marketing, LLC. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, she began her career with case management in a mental health setting. After several years raising her family and making some cross-country moves, Nikki expanded her sights and held positions ranging from preschool teacher to the commission department of a large real estate firm. A willingness to branch out has led to experience in administration, human resources, and accounting.
Nikki and her husband are parents to four amazing kids. They are currently exploring the Atlanta area. When Nikki isn’t tending to her animals or kids, she’s reading or painting some furniture.
