Because we are headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona (AZ), and TOPDOG founders Krista Duncan Black (CEO) and Jeff Black (CFO) reside there, we are very involved in the local and legal communities in Maricopa County and throughout Arizona.

TOPDOG has a substantial presence in Indiana as well, particularly in the Indianapolis metro area. Krista received her Juris Doctor degree from Indiana University Mauer School of Law and regularly visits family, friends, and clients in the Hoosier State.

We also support organizations and events throughout West Virginia (WV). Our founders have WV roots, the company was founded there and enjoys a wonderful client base in WV, and several employees—Creative and Administrative Director Paula Roberts, Senior Digital Marketing Specialist Lynn Lewis, and Digital Marketing Specialist Samantha Roberts—live in the greater Charleston, WV area.

TOPDOG serves clients throughout the US, and we also support national legal organizations and associations through sponsorships, speaking engagements, and other activities. Why Companies Should Give Back to the Community

 

A business that helps the community can improve the lives and conditions of people and institutions in its realm of influence while also enjoying internal rewards. You likely know the phrase, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” While there is truth in this statement, a damaged boat often cannot float. A community, whether geographic or industry-based, has a responsibility to help mend the conditions that prevent the rising tide from lifting us all.

Ultimately, as a for-profit company, actions that benefit the communities in which you work are also beneficial from a business perspective. Aside from generally improved community conditions, which benefit employees and clients, a company may, as a result of philanthropic and volunteer efforts, see improved employee morale, establish an affirmative company culture, generate positive press and branding, create opportunities for networking and relationship building, and realize tax advantages.

Ways TOPDOG Legal Marketing Gives Back the Community

TOPDOG Legal Marketing sees value in offering employees opportunities to engage in volunteer efforts and other contributions to the community or causes of their choice. On selected national days of service and in recognition of National Volunteer Week, the company has donated employee time for participation in volunteer activities.

TOPDOG employees have used donated work time to help local and national organizations and causes, including the following activities:

Determined to create some good amid the pandemic, TOPDOG provided employees with paid time off for COVID vaccination. This time could be used to schedule, travel to and from, and receive vaccinations for the employee or loved ones. After an established, reasonable period, unused leave was donated to an organization recommended by employees. In recognition of their efforts and hardships throughout the pandemic, in December 2021, the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Foundation was chosen to receive the remaining funds from allocated employee COVID vaccination leave time.

As members of the legal community, it is important to TOPDOG’s leadership to give back in meaningful ways to the business community we serve. Event participation and being a legal conference sponsor are rewarding ways to engage with others in the legal industry. As we are able, TOPDOG offers various services at reduced or no cost to legal organizations, like local bar associations and law schools. Contributions in this area have included continuing legal education (CLE) sessions, event speakers, and digital marketing services, like website design and content creation.
